The class will focus on the basic techniques, isolations, and rhythm patterns of hip hop and house. Attention will also be paid to the styles of dance that influenced them. Students will leave with the ability to understand choreography and improvise.

Feb 19 - Basic House Class

Classes focus on the the foundations of Hip Hop and House dance styles. Students will be introduced to basic techniques, isolations, and rhythm patterns, thus allowing the student to develop their own individual freestyle (improvisation), as well as, the ability to understand and to express artistry in hip hop or house routines and choreography.

These classes will give students the opportunity to learn the basics of hip hop and house in a fun and relaxed environment. Accessible to both beginners and experienced dancers alike!

Marjory Smarth's House Workshop

"House" is a dance style that emerged from the New York City underground club scene. Marjory's approach is multifaceted. She mixes many cultural dances such as African, Salsa, Hip Hop, and more. Though her style is smooth it is physically demanding. Marjory is one of the major original contributors to the US House Dance scene.
